Who We Are
The National Youth Movement Uganda (NYMU) is a peaceful, nationalistic, and non-partisan youth-led grassroots movement dedicated to amplifying the voice, power, and potential of young people across the country.
From urban centers to the most remote villages, we are uniting the forgotten majority—organizing for justice, dignity, and opportunity. NYMU is building a strong national structure that spans from the national level to regional coordination, reaches every district, and is expanding to the village level.
Our mission is to bridge the widening gap between the lived realities of Uganda’s youth and the decisions made by national leadership.
We are not sponsored.
We are not silenced.
We are not waiting.
We are building the future ourselves.
“This government has forgotten the youth. We’re organizing to remind them—and to rebuild what they’ve ignored.”
Our Mission
To organize, empower, and represent the youth of Uganda—especially those left behind by government, corruption, and inequality—by building a strong grassroots movement that drives social, economic, and political transformation.
Our Vision
A Uganda where all young people—regardless of background—have the power, voice, and resources to live with dignity, shape policy, and lead their communities.

Why This Movement Matters
Uganda has over 78% of its population under 30. Yet youth remain unemployed, voiceless, and used for political gain.
We are here to change that. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.
“They forgot us. We are reminding them—with our voice, our numbers, and our action.”
